Scheduling and status

A campaign carries two kinds of state that are easy to conflate: the campaign’s own label (Draft, Scheduled, Active, Expired, or Paused) and a separate Checkout sync state that says whether the discount has actually reached Shopify.

Active dates

Turning on a schedule adds a start date, and optionally an end date, in a time zone you choose (it defaults to your store’s own). Leave the schedule off and an Active campaign runs continuously from the moment it publishes, with no end date to manage.

Tip

On the Scale plan, turn on per-market schedules instead of one window for the whole store, and give each market its own start and end date.

The campaign label

Label	Meaning
Draft	Status is Draft. Never applied at checkout, however it’s otherwise configured — the safe state to build and preview a campaign in.
Scheduled	Status is Active, a schedule is on, and the start date hasn’t arrived yet.
Active	Status is Active and, if a schedule is on, the current time is inside its window.
Expired	Status is Active, a schedule is on, and the end date has passed. Extend the window or turn the campaign off.
Paused	The Shopify admin paused the underlying discount directly — deleted, expired, or deactivated it. Turn the campaign back on in Nock Deals to republish it.

Force off stops a Scheduled or Active campaign immediately, ignoring the rest of its schedule instead of waiting for the end date.

What the label doesn’t tell you

None of these labels mean the discount is live at checkout right now — only that you’ve asked the app to run the campaign. What checkout actually honours is the separate Checkout sync state, shown on the same Status card:

Checkout state	Meaning
Not published	Never synced — Draft, or Active but the sync hasn’t run yet.
Publishing…	The sync is in progress.
Published	The discount is live. This is the only state in which checkout applies it.
Failed	Shopify rejected the sync. An error message explains why; use Try again to retry.

Publishing happens automatically whenever you save an Active campaign, or turn a saved campaign on.

Caution

A campaign can show the Active label while its Checkout state is still Publishing, or even Failed. Shoppers can still see the widget’s levels on the product page in that window — the widget reflects what you set up, not the live checkout state — but they won’t get the discount until Checkout reaches Published.
